QUESTION: I’m coming from out of town, where can I stay in Green Lake?
ANSWER: Information about our community and lodging can be found here.
QUESTION: Does the ride offer refunds or defer entries to future years?
ANSWER: No. Due to the need to order materials in advance and meet our financial commitment to our charity partner, the ride does not offer refunds or defer entries to future years under any circumstances.
QUESTION: Can I transfer my registration?
ANSWER: No. Unfortunately, attendees are not able to transfer registration from one individual to another at this time.
QUESTION: Does my child need to register?
ANSWER: If your child is 17 years or younger, he/she is free to ride, however, you will need to contact the Chamber office to register them for $40. This will provide them with a goodie bag and post-meal.
QUESTION: Do I need to select a ride distance and stick with it?
ANSWER: No. You can decide on ride day what distance you would like to go. You can even change your mind during the event regarding how far you want to travel. This is a one-day ride, not a race, so your start time, finish time, and distance are completely up to you.
QUESTION: What time do I need to start?
ANSWER: You can start any time between 6:30 am and 10 am. To reduce congestion on the roads and afford flexibility to the participants, there is no “mass start” to this event. We do encourage you to plan according to your anticipated pace and your target finish time. All riders should finish by 3:00 pm since the post-ride dinner ends at 4:00 pm.
QUESTION: What happens if it rains?
ANSWER: The ride will take place rain or shine.
QUESTION: Do I need a road bike to participate?
ANSWER: No. You may ride on any style of bike you choose (electric is acceptable). The entire course is on roads so road bikes and hybrids are the typical styles of bikes used by participants.
QUESTION: Are recumbent bikes, electric bikes, tandem bikes, Burley, and pull-behind trailers acceptable?
ANSWER: Yes. Regarding child trailers, make sure your precious cargo is also wearing helmets (if applicable), and that only the riders pulling the trailers need to register.
QUESTION: Are finisher results posted to the website?
ANSWER: No. This is a ride, not a race. Racing is discouraged and there are no official results based on finish time. Our start and finish lines do not have timing mats.
QUESTION: When can I pick up my packet?
ANSWER: You may pick up your packet on Friday 9:00 am-4:00 pm at the Green Lake Chamber offices at 550 Mill St. and on Ride Day between 6:30 am and 10:00 am at Deacon Mills Park.
